Sophia Walsh is a writer based in Paris, France. She lived and worked on unceded land in so-called Australia. Her debut fiction novella, Rien (2024), was published by No More Poetry. She completed studying linguistics and creative writing at the University of Melbourne, where she wrote a thesis about hauntology, affect theory, and Helen Garner. You can read some of her work in Westerly Magazine, Peach Mag, Cordite Poetry Review, No More Poetry’s *No No No Mag, Overland, and elsewhere. In 2022, her poem 'Hide and Seek' was shortlisted for the Judith Wright poetry prize, and her poem ‘Before You Go’ placed second in the Val Vallis Poetry Award. She is a Warman School graduate, Read the Room participant, and Melbourne School of Literature student. In 2022, she was awarded and undertook a mentorship with Eileen Myles through Queensland Poetry.
